Bulgaria Dreams: A Designer’s Go-To Script Font for Branding Projects

Starting with a Blank Canvas

There’s something both exciting and intimidating about opening a new brand project. The client wanted a warm, approachable identity for their new artisanal coffee shop — something that felt personal but still professional. I opened Photoshop, stared at the blank board, and asked myself: what font could capture that handwritten charm without sacrificing readability? That’s when I remembered Bulgaria Dreams.

What Is Bulgaria Dreams?

Bulgaria Dreams is a script font with smooth, natural curves that mimic real handwriting. It’s not overly ornate or stiff — it flows like a personal signature, with a touch of elegance. It falls into the Script & Amp category, making it perfect for branding projects that need a human, approachable feel. Whether it’s a logo, packaging, or social media post, this font brings a sense of warmth and authenticity.

First Impressions: Logo Design

I dropped Bulgaria Dreams into the first logo mockup — just the shop’s name in all caps. Instantly, it felt like the brand had a personality. The soft curves and natural rhythm gave the logo a relaxed, inviting energy. I adjusted the letter spacing to avoid any overlap and added a subtle underline to give it a little more presence. It wasn’t just legible — it was memorable.

One thing I noticed was how well it held up at different sizes. At a small scale on a business card, it remained clear. On a large storefront sign, it had presence without looking stretched or distorted. That versatility is rare in script fonts, which often lose character when resized.

Using Bulgaria Dreams Across Brand Materials

Once the logo was approved, I started integrating the font across other brand assets. Here’s where Bulgaria Dreams really shined:

It worked especially well in short-form text — headlines, taglines, and callouts — where it could stand out without overwhelming the layout.

Readability and Visual Hierarchy

Some script fonts are beautiful but hard to read. Bulgaria Dreams strikes a balance. Its natural flow and open spacing make it surprisingly legible, especially in medium-length headlines. It’s not ideal for long paragraphs, but that’s not what it’s meant for. It’s a display font — a headline or accent typeface that guides the viewer’s eye through the design.

When used consistently across brand materials, it helped reinforce brand recognition. Every time the client saw their name in Bulgaria Dreams, they felt the same warmth and personality that defined their shop.

Design Observations: Real-World Use

One of the most telling tests was seeing the font in the wild. Printed on a matte label sticker, it looked like it was written by hand. On the homepage hero section, it gave the brand a welcoming tone. Even on Instagram stories, where text needs to be quick and clear, it performed well — especially when slightly bolded or outlined.

It also handled different color schemes gracefully. Whether in deep espresso brown or soft terracotta, the font adapted without losing its charm.

Font Pairing Made Easy

Pairing Bulgaria Dreams with other fonts was straightforward. I used it with a minimalist sans-serif for contrast and balance. The script font handled the personality, while the sans-serif grounded the design and improved readability in longer text blocks.

It also worked well with serif fonts in more formal branding pieces like invitations or printed menus. The key was to keep the secondary font clean and modern, so it didn’t compete with the organic flow of Bulgaria Dreams.

What to Check Before Using Bulgaria Dreams

Before locking in the font for the full brand system, I made sure to test a few things:

  1. Alternate characters: Bulgaria Dreams includes ligatures and stylistic alternates that added uniqueness to the logo.
  2. File formats: It came in both OTF and TTF, which ensured compatibility across design platforms.
  3. Multilingual support: Useful if the brand planned to expand or collaborate with international partners.
  4. Licensing: Verified that it was cleared for commercial use, including merchandise and digital templates.

These checks ensured the font could be used across all needed applications — from print to web to product packaging — without legal or technical issues.

Final Thoughts

Bulgaria Dreams is more than just a pretty font. It’s a versatile, readable, and expressive typeface that adds character to any brand identity. Whether you're designing for a small café, a handmade shop, or a creative studio, it brings a sense of warmth and authenticity that resonates with audiences.

If you’re working on a branding project that needs a personal touch, give Bulgaria Dreams a try. Test it in multiple formats, pair it with a clean supporting typeface, and see how it shapes your brand’s visual story. You might just find that it becomes your new go-to script font.
